Cannot Use USB in Virtual PC 2007

I just discovered that you cannot use a USB drive in Virtual PC 2007. I need to find a way so that I can access the file from the host instead.
Some quick fix:
1. Install Virtual Machine Additions on the Virtual Machine OS (Guest OS).
a. Start the Virtual Machine first then go to Actions menu of the started Virtual Machine's console, Action then Install or Update Virtual Machine additions .
2. This will install Virtual Machine additions on the guest OS. Once this is done, you need to restart the Virtual Machine's OS (guest OS). Then proceed to settings...
a. From Virtual Machine's console - go to Edit, Settings then Shared Folders. It is here that you specify all the drives/folders of host OS which you want to share with Virtual PC's OS (guest OS)

ACCOUNT ALREADY EXISTS ERROR

When joining in domain an existing account after reformatting the unit, the “Account already exists” error displays.

I am still trying to understand the logic, but this trick works well:
• Join in Workgroup first
• Restart the system unit
• Then join in the domain

Vinegar as Mold Remover

Holidays allow room to clean not consider things in regular days like me actually cleaning the bathroom. Surprisingly, VCP told me that vinegar can remove molds. It actually wiped out the molds! VCP said that the science behind is that Vinegar is an acid. And if want to whiten the tiles, I should use baking soda.

30 Reasons Why Turning 30 Rocks! Project

It's my 30th Birthday today!

The only time you really live fully is from thirty to sixty. The young are slaves to dreams; the old servants of regrets. Only the middle-aged have all their five senses in the keeping of their wits.- Hervey Allen

I will make the 30 Reasons Why Turning 30 Rocks like what is posted below:

Simple but treasured moment

My last Friday night was tremendously amazing! It was not the typical alcohol night but dug deeper officemates relationship.

Just a simple dinner in a no fancy resto brought spontaneous and intimate personal values. Everyone felt so honest and open to what is bothering one’s mind. Everyone blushed and giggled to every behind love stories!

I simply offer a simple dinner but treasured once in a lifetime personal connection and sharing!

Next plan:
Think of incorporated blog site. I am tired of switching topics from one blog site to another.

Subic Grande Island and Ocean Adventure

Subic Grande Island and Ocean Adventure
October 24-25, 2009

I enjoyed relaxing and fun company outing this first semester break.

Some facts:
-Subic is from the word CUBI.
-There are bankers all over Subic which were the storage of American ammunitions, missiles, etc.
-Whales below 20 ft are still classified as Dolphins
-Zoobic is the only Zoo in the Philippines that has Camel in its animal collection
-Only Aetas are allowed to catch fish in Subic, others will be jailed!

Covey’s Quadrant in Setting Priorities

I am now using the Covey’s quadrant in strategizing how to catch-up pending blog postings and article submission, review and pass her MIDTERM exam, attend information security training and open source work programs, and Rotaract issues and events.

Right now, I am monitoring the Asia Souce 3 event.

Exploring EXPOs

Still part of searching possible business, I’m now into exploring Expos. Awhile ago, I visited Philippine Business and Entrepreneur Expo (PBEX) in Megamall.

Interesting notes:
- P65.00 life insurance through text only covering 1 year
- Ice cream products with freezer
- Stocks investments
- Picture printing machine that can be placed anywhere
-Free Seminars focus on Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimization

I will explore more on tips in visiting and later joining Expos.

MARKET UP IN 9TH SONA OF GMA

Yesterday was a full blown pro and anti-President Gloria Arroyo day! The heavy rain did not stop the protesters and supporters alike.

While everyone relaxed and watched the television (It was declared holiday!), the stock market went high. It’s unusual though, in every political uncertainty and speculations, the market seemingly goes down. But not this 9TH SONA of GMA. That’s good news!

INVESTING IN THE STOCK MARKET

The “Investing in the Stock Market” lesson for tonight is timing with my quest for personal financial management. It gave me a more in-depth but basic background in stock investment.

Some of the important thoughts:
• There is a real and big money in becoming an insurance agent
• There is such thing as mutual fund specialist
• First time to hear “Samurai” bond and “hot” money

I am now excited for Philippine Stock Exchange visit!

The pest is in the soil!

I already figured out what’s the problem! The soil itself is infected with a pest! I remember that I placed a cloth in every pot and box to prevent soil erosion. However, according to what I’ve read, cloth in contact with soil increases the moisture driven pest attack.

Therefore, I will dry-up all the pots and box so the pests in it will automatically die too. I prematurely harvested the previous batch of Pechays.

I learned that it is better to record and post calendar to remind of the exact age of the plants. This can be as simple as paper and pencil clipped in stick and erected near them.

Now I’m more excited to learn new discoveries with the fourth batch of Pechay planting experiment. I have already prepared the replacement seeds, they are now four days old!

Got my Flu Vaccine against N1H1

My arm is still aching a bit. I had my flu shot against N1H1 yesterday for free. The free vaccine shot is part of the precautionary measures of our company aside from alcohol, LYSOL, alcogel and other supplies pouring all over. The flu shots will be also for free for all our students.

Protection by screen…

I have been planting Pechay and have grown them healthy for a month then suddenly I scraped out the whole plant. Then the cycle keeps on repeating. This is because the leaves were attacked and eaten by the “unknown”. Until now, I really don’t know what insects were eating my Pechays’ leaves. Is it the worm, rat or bird?

Since I still can’t figure out because I didn’t catch them in the act, I bought a wire screen. The screen serves two purposes, protection against the “unknown” and strong direct sunlight. I think my Pechays are happy now :).

Urban gardening on the side again….

The rain poured the whole day. Raindrops signaled by brain to sleep all day. However, my green thumb said “It’s a great day for gardening!”. Therefore, it’s a gardening day once again.

I cultivated and gave my 2 months old Pechays a breath. Then, I cut and propagated my Basils. Basil is one of the medical plants for Hydrosis.
I really can imagine myself doing gardening as one of my healthy hobbies when I become a retiree.

I have finished two books today. Yay! What a day!
