THE PALAWAN EXPERIENCE

Palawan is such a forest within a city!

Our company is still lucky to sponsor expensive company outing in spite of recession felt around. How fortunate I am to enjoy Palawan for free!

Day 1 was filled with city tour. Visited were Puero Cuartel, Cathedral, Butterfly Farm, Crocodile Farm, and Iwahig Prison.

Day 2’s itinerary was bound to the Underground River which I missed.

Day 3 tour was island hopping. Islands hopped were Bat Island, Pandan Island and Snake Island. Snorkeling was such an attraction but I prefer to just swim near the banka to hide from the sun. In Snake Island, a remarkable itchy thing marked the memories of the swimmers. It’s the mating season that’s why the fish fries were all around the snorkeling area. Skin reacted irritated with fish fries.

Pure honey, cultured pearl earrings, cashew nuts and dried fish are the must buy in Palawan.

Unleash the Highest Potential of Your Relationship (with focus on Marriage)

Wedding Preparation

Last March 14, 2009, we attended Unleash International’s seminar on relationship with focus on marriage.

As originally designed, a man and a woman have their own differences. In this differences emanate the natural likes and dislikes that may lead to conflict and chaos. However, knowing the common purpose and own responsibilities will surely solve these differences.
The most unforgettable and funniest fact cited is the being nagger of a wife. As explained, women can produce 25, 000 words compare to 12, 500 only of men. Naturally, women love to speak and talk than to have sex. Women love to talk about ‘nothing’. In opposite men cannot live without sex and must have a topic when talking in a group.

The very basic but eye opening biblical couple responsibilities are “Husband must love his wife” while the “wife must respect her husband”. Love and respect are deeply defined as mutual sacrifices and responsibilities. As such that one will serve one another the way that the other naturally wants it. It is like loving and respecting someone the way that someone likes it.
The seminar / workshop was fun and experience filled, truly living to Unleash’s Edutainment mantra. I and my fiancĂ© were very happy and fortunate that we have attended this seminar because we are now more rightly guided in the beginning of our lifelong journey as a couple.

Weekend's Summary

At Work
Conducted Time Management to Subordinates
-The idea of collecting participants’ inputs as sharing of experience in relation to the presented theories was very effective. Both sides learned, not the typical “students only learn from the teacher” approach.

My Rotaract
2nd Philippine Rotaract Assembly in Quezon City
- Relieved because, at last, the procedures and guidelines for Phil MDIO Chair Election were set. Probably, 1 to 2 years from, I can focus on my family life without the worries that the next generations of MDIO Officers will be out of the direction.

-Pendings:
1. Format for Certificate of Candicacy
2. Policies for Sisterhood Agreement
3. Point System for Community Service Award

Financial Management
-Found a wheel for law of averaging with a minimum of P1,000.00 and P30,000.00 for long and short terms. This is compounded every month and not per annum.

WORK MANAGEMENT TALK (Part 1 - Setting Priorities)

Important Notes:
-Small group is easier to control.
-Audience focuses when there is an exercise for the points.
-Giving time allowance for questions, clarifications, and interruptions tends to be a good idea to maximize allotted timeframe while covering all important points.
-Reaction and level of understanding depend on age, position and status of the audience.
